# Fees, limits and exact amounts

Find the terms that apply to an operation and keep fee, valuation, funding and proceeds separate.

## Read the operation’s own terms

Use the exact review for the action you are about to approve. A public article cannot lock a future fee, exchange rate or provider term. Payment, backing, Market trading, card processing and a connected service subscription are separate operations. The interface must preserve the actual total debit, units, fee and receiving result rather than hide them in an unexplained amount.

| Card amount | The local parser supports $0.50–$100,000.00, up to two decimal places. |
| Public payment note | Up to 280 characters; public in the Ledger. |
| Market quantity | Supported exact microshare precision and actual held shares. |
| Market purchase capacity | Current quote/execution capacity rules, including soft-exposure constraints. |
| Asset files | Limits depend on media role and total authored payload; see creation guide. |
| Proof import | Separate per-source, batch and stored-proof limits; see backup guide. |

## Know the unit being approved

Keep dollar cents, exact Phi, shares and native asset units distinct. A Settlement Note’s printed creation dollars are not a newly fixed dollar authorization at a later valuation. A dollar-budget Market purchase fixes the budget while final units can change; a quantity sale fixes units while proceeds can change. Do not round an authoritative integer unit through a JavaScript floating-point number in an integration.

## Handle a refusal precisely

**A refusal identifies a boundary to resolve**

| Example | What to inspect |
| --- | --- |
| Amount exceeds trade limit | The current permitted request size. |
| Purchase capacity reached | The asset’s current capacity and quote. |
| Amount exceeds available balance | The exact available funded source and possible shortfall. |
| Quantity exceeds available shares | The actual held position and pending actions. |
| Amount below minimum | The supported minimum shown for that route. |
| Source or review changed | Refresh the preparation/review without replacing an unknown execution. |

## Retain what was actually charged

After completion, retain the accepted record and actual fee/proceeds where supplied. A quote is preparation, not the final executed trade. Where an operation has no supported fee field or the host has not supplied a term, leave it unspecified rather than infer zero. Refunds and provider disputes follow the applicable service and operation contract; closing a tab or pressing Back does not reverse a submitted charge.
